The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) has announced plans to add four new train stations, aiming to enhance connectivity and ease congestion in Atlanta. This significant expansion will see new stations at Murphy Crossing, Krog Street, Armour Yards, and Joseph E. Boone, each strategically positioned to serve growing residential and commercial areas.

Murphy Crossing, near West End and Oakland City, will include around 1,100 housing units and 180,000 square feet of commercial space, with a focus on affordability. Krog Street’s station will enhance access to popular spots like Krog Street Market, helping to alleviate local traffic woes. The Armour Yards station will connect a bustling office and retail area, bridging a four-mile gap between existing stations. Meanwhile, Joseph E. Boone’s station in northwest Atlanta is set to be a game-changer for low-income commuters, integrating with the city’s redevelopment plans and connecting directly to the Beltline trail system. This expansion marks MARTA’s largest rail development in decades, promising to transform transit accessibility across the city.
