Jobs Continue to Flourish in Georgia

Jobs increased in Georgia in the past 6 months. Over the month of October, job creation reached an all-time peak of 4,834,900. 

Georgia’s employment increased by nearly 13,000 over the month, setting a new all-time high. For the third month in a row, the unemployment rate remained at an all-time low of 2.8 percent. Accommodation and Food Services added 34,300 jobs over the year. Administrative and Support Services added 25,400; Health Care and Social Assistance added 25,100; Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services added 19,800; Transportation and Warehousing added 19,600; Wholesale Trade added 18,900; and Retail Trade added 15,100.

Jobs in Trade and Transportation reached an all-time high of 1,021,400, including the Wholesale Trade and Transportation and Warehousing sectors, and 637,300 in Education and Health Services, including the Health Care and Social Assistance sector. Georgia’s unemployment rate fell by 1,481 to 148,173, the lowest since January 2001’s figure of 147,077.
