Georgia has a varied and plentiful list of things to do at any time of year, but especially during the holidays. Shopping, thrills, and holiday light displays await! Here are the top five things to do:
Thanksgiving Dinner Cruise
On Thanksgiving, Savannah Riverboat Cruises provides an out-of-the-box eating experience with their classic Antebellum riverboat, which features traditional colors and an elegant interior. So, if you’re looking for a change of scenery this year or to get people away from the house, this is the route to go!
Address: 9 E. River Street, Savannah, GA 31401 U.S.A.

Holiday in the Park
Six Flags Over Georgia Georgia debuted a reimagined version of an older coaster that has long been a park staple, and you can ride it during Thanksgiving week at Holiday in the Park. The Christmas extravaganza continues into the new year with ethereal vocals and a festive twist on their usual theme. Marvel at the iconic Promenade’s more than 100,000 lights, stroll the peppermint-scented walkways, ride the train to the North Pole, and relish holiday rides like Dare Devil Dive and Goliath, in addition to what the park already has to offer.

The Gobble Jog
There’s nothing like beginning a day of heavy indulgence with a good old-fashioned jog. Marietta organizes the Gobble Jog every year to raise funds for a charity that serves food, apparel, housing, and training to women and children. Don’t be surprised if you see people dressed up as turkeys.

Black Friday Shop at Atlantic Station
For many reasons, Atlantic Station is the greatest spot to shop on Black Friday or any other day. Roads are closed to pedestrians, there is a terrific parking garage beneath, it will be colorfully decorated for the holidays, and there are numerous mainstream and unique stores.
Those who don’t want to shop can enjoy ice skating, mini train rides, a German Christmas market, and great restaurants, including Kilwin’s incredible hot chocolate, festive sweet treats, and a building that smells like heaven inside.
Address: 271 District Ave., Atlanta, GA 30363
Nature’s walk
Many individuals may not be thrilled about the shopping malls and the hectic downtown Atlanta traffic. So perhaps nature hikes could be a good substitute.
Around Thanksgiving, the state’s mountain regions are breathtaking, and soaking up some natural scenery on a picturesque hike in Georgia might be exactly what you need to prepare for all that cooking.
Cloudland Canyon is a breathtaking hike, and the colors are especially vibrant in the fall. The Sitton Gulch Trail is a popular hiking trail that includes a five-mile out-and-back trail with a waterfall. The months of October and September are ideal for hiking this trail, and dogs are welcome.
