Have you Considered These Tourist Spots in Georgia?

Georgia has many places that serve as tourist attractions where one’s interests can be piqued. These interests can range from beaches, museums, aquariums, historical sites, gardens, forests, and mountain landscapes, to name a few. Regardless of whatever interest a resident or visitor may have, there is something adventurous out there for everyone that can be an enjoyable experience for the whole family. There are many to choose from but here are five amazing places in the state to check out.

Callaway Resort & Gardens on Pine Mountain, is a popular leisure center that offers adventure, relaxation, and fun all year round. There are hike and bike trails to explore the 2,500 acres of land in Callaway. There are so many other activities such as golf, spas, beaches, fishing, watersports, bird shows, balloon festivals, ziplining through the top of trees, or taking in the vibrant blossoms and relaxing atmosphere of the changing seasons. Callaway Resort & Gardens is located at 17617 US-27 Pine Mountain, GA 31822.

For those who prefer to learn through historical sites there is the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site located in Atlanta. The recognizable civil rights activist and leader has made a lasting impact in the fight for equality in the United States throughout his life. Many local and international visitors take part in a self-guided tour of a two-block area which includes The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park as well as his preserved birth home. As he was a man led by his faith, the tour also includes Ebenezer Baptist Church, the church where Martin Luther King was baptized as a child and later ordained as a minister. The sites are located at 400 & 500 blocks of Auburn Avenue, NE, Atlanta, Georgia.

Then there is the Chattahoochee National Forest which includes so many recreational areas as well as trails suitable for all skill and experience levels including the legendary Appalachian Trail. The forest’s more than 2,200 miles of rivers and streams include about 1,367 miles of trout streams, so along with hiking, fishing is one of the most popular things to do as well. There is also a popular area for camping, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and picnicking. So anyone who has a love for the great outdoors will certainly find something for them in this vast forest.

A museum that can offer an emotionally powerful and moving experience for visitors is The National Center for Civil and Human Rights located in Atlanta. As the name implies, the museum is dedicated to highlighting the continuing civil rights movements in the United States and the ongoing struggle for human rights across the world. It honors those who lost their lives in the struggle for equal rights with their photos and stories. The museum aims to resonate with visitors and connect them to the struggles many still face today for human rights through interactive technology, exploring fundamental rights, and encouraging meaningful engagement in various topics. It is located at 100 Ivan Allen Jr. Boulevard Atlanta, GA 30313.

And finally, for rock and mountaineering climbing enthusiasts, there is Rock City on Lookout Mountain. One gets to appreciate nature through viewing gardens with over 400 native plant species. When a visitor walks through the 4,100-foot Enchanted Trail they will encounter incredible massive rock formations, magical caves, and breathtaking views. There are also restaurants and souvenir shops available as well as activities to make a trip to this beautiful destination worth it year round.
