As summer travel picks up, Georgia motorists are feeling the pinch at the pump. The average price for regular gas in the state has climbed to $3.46 per gallon, a 7-cent increase from last week and 13 cents higher than a month ago. This marks a significant rise from the $3.27 average seen at the same time last year.

Despite ongoing conflicts in the Middle East affecting oil markets, Montrae Waiters from AAA Georgia offers a glimmer of hope, predicting a potential decrease in gas prices in the coming weeks due to recent drops in oil prices. Hall County’s average gas price is currently $3.41 per gallon, with White County experiencing the highest average in Northeast Georgia at $3.50. The national average for unleaded regular gasoline stands at $3.65 per gallon today.
