DeKalb County Public Schools announced a groundbreaking partnership with the Georgia Aquarium aimed at enhancing STEM education for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Starting July 1, students will have the chance to explore marine science careers and address socio-environmental issues affecting their communities.

Dr. Yolanda Williamson, the district’s Chief of Community Empowerment and Innovative Partnerships, highlighted the program’s potential to inspire passion for marine science and provide critical thinking skills. The initiative also aims to improve assessment scores, raise environmental awareness, and offer real-world experiences. Approved by the DeKalb County Board of Education, this collaboration signifies a major step forward in empowering students with knowledge and future career opportunities.
