Sarv Dharavane, a fourth grader at Austin Elementary School, triumphed in the 63rd Annual Georgia Association of Educators State Spelling Bee. The victory, secured in March, will be celebrated with a ceremony at his school on Wednesday, June 11.

Sarv’s win qualifies him for an all-expenses-paid trip to National Harbor, Maryland, where he will compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee later this month. The competition saw twenty students vying for the top spot, with Sarv emerging victorious after an 18-round challenge. He clinched the title by correctly spelling “dashiki” in the final round. This accomplishment also highlights his skills, as he recently won the Georgia State Technology Competition in Project Programming.
