The 47th Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival is set to groove its way into the heart of the Peach State this weekend, promising a rhythmic celebration for all. Local band Groove Centric, deeply rooted in jazz from childhood, is among the anticipated performers. Band members have been immersed in jazz since elementary school, with some starting as young as four or five years old.

The festival, recognized as one of the largest free jazz festivals in the country, will take place from May 25-27 at Piedmont Park, attracting over 150,000 attendees. For Groove Centric, performing at this festival is about more than just music; it’s about connection and expression. The festival serves as a gathering place for families, often spanning three generations, and becomes a hub for reunions and celebrations. The first day’s festivities kick off at 1 p.m., inviting jazz lovers from around the world to enjoy a weekend of soulful tunes and community spirit.
